I found this "Layers of Love Chocolate Brownie" recipe in my Toll House recipe book. I made just a few changes by switching out the pecans with macadamia nuts.
3/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cups baking cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter, cut in pieces
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3 large egges, divided
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup macadamia nuts, diced
3/4 cups white chocolate morsels
1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping
3/4 cup milk chocolate chip morsels
Combine flour cocoa and salt in small bowl. Set aside. In large mixing bowl combine butter, sugars until creamy. Gradually add 2 eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition. Add vanilla extract, mixing well.
Gradually add flour mixture. Reserve 3/4 cup batter. Spread remaining batter into greased 8 inch square baking pan. Sprinkle macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips over batter. Drizzle caramel topping over top.
Beat remaining egg and reserved batter in same large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy. Stir in milk chocolate chip morsels. Spread evenly over caramel topping.
Bake 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely and cut in bars.
