I made this applesauce in the Fall. I just tried it a few weeks ago when I made Cinnamon Applesauce Cake.
The applesauce is so amazing! We used Jonagold apples for this recipe. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out.
Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce
4 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup sugar, optional
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
In saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar and cinnamon. Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft.
Mash with potato masher.
Ladle into hot sterilized pint size jars. Process in hot water bath for 15 minutes.
I more than tripled this recipe---so glad I did!
