One of our family favorites :)
Turkey Burger Pinwheels. You can also make them with ground beef.
1 1/2 pounds ground turkey burger
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 TB shortening
1 TB baking powder
3/4 cup milk
2 cans cream mushroom soup
1 cup milk
Cook turkey burger, garlic, onions, garlic powder, salt, pepper and mushrooms until meat is browned and onions and mushrooms are tender.
Stir in 2 cans cream of mushroom soup and simmer for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine flour, salt and baking powder in small bowl.
Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
Gradually add 3/4 cups of milk or enough to form a nice dough.
Roll dough on floured surface in rectangle shape.
Spread meat mixture on dough and roll up jelly roll style.
Cut roll in slices about 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick. Place your pinwheels on a greased baking sheet and bake 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
For gravy, heat remaining 2 cans cream of mushroom soup with 1 cup milk and whisk until smooth. Bring to a boil and simmer on low for a few minutes.
Pour gravy over pinwheels.
