1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup baking cocoa
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup sugar
powdered sugar for sprinkling
Mix together butter and sugar until well combined and creamy.
Add eggs one at a time and vanilla. Mix until combined.
In separate bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
Gradually add to butter mixture. Mix until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Roll into 1 inch balls, dip in 1/2 cup sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Make criss cross pattern on each cookie. Just slightly flatten cookie.
Bake 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes or until cookies are firm around the edges.
Remove and cool on wire rack. Dust warm cookies with powdered sugar.
