I found this wonderful recipe in a Better Homes and Garden's magazine and just omitted the coconut.
1 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 cups chopped pecans
1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
2 TB vanilla
20 caramels, unwrapped
2 TB milk
1 cup milk chocolate chips
Combine flour and brown sugar, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press in 9x13 pan.
Bake 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Sprinkle pecans over hot crust.
Meanwhile, combine sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Pour over hot crust and pecans. Bake 25 minutes or until filling is set.
Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in saucepan combine caramels and milk. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly just until caramels melt. Drizzle over bars and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Cool and cut in bars. Store in airtight container.
Enjoy these gooey naughty treats :)
