Chocolate Pecan Toffee
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
4 sticks butter
package chopped walnuts or pecans
2 cups milk chocolate chips
Combine sugar, syrup, water and butter in saucepan. Cook over high heat stirring constantly. Just before mixture begins to boil, reduce heat to low. Insert candy thermometer, Do Not Stir. Cook to hard crack stage.
While mixture is cooking, spray jelly roll pan and sprinkle pan with chopped walnuts.
Pour syrup mixture over nuts and let spread. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. When melted, spread with knife. When chocolate is set, break into pieces and store.
