I love everything about the 4th of July. The food, colors, fireworks and of course being with my family.
You can find fun swirly straws at the dollar store and stuff them in mason jars.
We found patriotic store bought cookies at Smith's Bakery. Place cookies on a pretty red, white and blue plate and adorn with flags.
Decorate your picnic table with a pretty table cloth, matching napkins and we used dollar store coca cola glasses for fun. I even found the blue plates at the dollar store....this way I could still use china but not worry if they accidentally got broken.
We like to add baskets full of laffy taffy and ring pops for the kids (or me).
We filled a basket full of cracker jacks and added fun fabric flags to our table.
Patriotic Picnic Flags
sticks from the yard or wooden rod
fabric, cut in large or small rectangles
Lay fabric out and cut to desired length, cut around all sides with pinking sheers. Fold one of the short sides over about 1/2 inch (or the width of your stick) and sew a pocket with matching thread.
Cut rod or stick to desired length and insert rod in flag panel in pocket seam. With needle and thread, stitch around top of flag to secure and keep from sliding.
Insert in sand filled pitcher and display :) You can also give them to your guests as a sweet party favor.
We filled red and blue buckets with ice and soda bottles. Orange, rootbeer, grape and black cherry.
Have a Wonderful 4th of July Holiday!
